Persistent pain can limit rehabilitation. HELP is here to change that.

Overview

What is HELP?

Persistent pain affects more than the body. HELP is a specialist rehab programme that helps clients manage pain with greater confidence, understanding, and control.

What HELP Offers

Delivered by Specialist Rehabilitation Occupational Therapists, HELP combines pain education, practical strategies, and structured support—tailored to each client’s goals, lifestyle, and daily routine. It’s not about pushing through pain but working with it to restore independence and quality of life.

A Structured Approach to Pain Management

Pain is personal, and so is the approach. HELP addresses the physical, emotional, and cognitive impact of persistent pain, supporting real progress through:

  • Pain education and rehab to build confidence and reduce daily impact
  • Sleep, fatigue, and stress support to boost energy and re-engagement
  • Planning and pacing strategies for more control and independence
  • Help with identity and motivation to rebuild confidence and purpose
  • Emotional regulation and goal setting to improve wellbeing and participation

HELP Evidence of Impact

HELP is delivered in clients’ homes and communities and built around their individual
needs and goals. Outcomes are tracked using recognised clinical measures:
 100% reported improved ability to manage pain
 100% increased confidence living with their condition
 93% improvement in mood, sleep, and daily confidence

Regaining Control

Each session helps clients build confidence, self-awareness, and practical strategies to feel more in control of their pain and everyday life.

Meaningful progress

Clients are supported to take manageable steps forward, whether that's getting out of the house, returning to valued roles, or reducing reliance on others.

Skills for Life

HELP equips clients with tools they can use well beyond therapy. From pacing and planning to managing setbacks, the programme builds lasting strategies for everyday life.

Think Therapy 1st provide, clear, client-focused rehabilitation that actually made a difference. Their communication was excellent throughout, and the reports gave a real sense of the client’s progress. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer again

Senior Associate, Personal Injury Solicitor

Think Therapy 1st have been pivotal in identifying, recommending and delivering a first-class rehabilitation package. The return to work was of the upmost importance and a significant goal for our client. Emma has been a vital linchpin in the rehabilitation process for our client and equally valued and trusted by both solicitors in the case to ensure the best possible input and outcome

Claimant’s solicitor

Think Therapy are different. They are not case managers in the recognised sense of the term. They are hands on therapists that work with injured claimants/clients to help maximise their potential. I have used Think Therapy on a number of my claims. While they are ‘claimant focussed’ and work closely with the client and their family, they don’t attempt to turn the case into something it isn’t and, refreshingly, will say when they think their job is done or can do no more.

My SROT from Think Therapy 1st changed my life. I didn’t think I would ever be able to live on my own again, let alone have my son over for the weekends. I was told I would be in a residential home for the rest of my life, and in my 30s, that was crushing. I have my own flat, I manage myself, don’t get me wrong, it’s not always easy. But I have my life, my independence and everything to live for
